“With good basics you’ll have endless options”

So a while ago the beautiful Luchae from ‘My Spreadsheet Brain’ and I worked together on styling these items from yummy mummy maternity collection.  Take a look

In this blog ill show you and explain how I styled these basics to create different looks from casual to fancy.

Tank Top & Leggings

STYLE 1

This look is such a casual yet cool look, its something you can wear everyday. The hat gives it an edgy look and the red on the bag and kimono brings in a pop of colour.

The next look shows you how you can bring in one item and it changes your entire look. Winter is around the corner and this look is super comfy and stylish.

  • Blanket Scarf – Cotton on

STYLE 3

Wearing belts during pregnancy is something you might not want to wear, but it is something that could spice up your maternity looks. The belt should either be under the belly or above your baby bump. Here we paired a belt with a kimono and a chunky necklace.

  • Kimono – Models own
  • Belt – The box

STYLE 4

In this look Luchae is wearing the awesome Yummy Mummy Maternity tank top and leggings paired with a denim jacket and a fun bag. I believe that every lady should have a denim jacket in their closet, it is something that would literally go with everything.

Here we styled the tank top and leggings in a ‘take me to work’ way. Wearing a bright pop of colour is always fun and brightens up the whole look. Paired it with an awesome necklace scarf to bring the whole look together.

Top Dress

STYLE 1

This is my favourite look. Luchae is wearing the Yummy Mummy Maternity top dress over the leggings. I decided to keep this look black and white, so we added a statement Leather Jacket, again this is something all ladies needs in their closet. Wearing chokers is a massive trend right now, so we added that too.

  • Leggings – Yummy Mummy Maternity
  • Leather Jacket – Zara
  • Choker – Lovisa Jewellery
  • Bag – Forever New

STYLE 2

What a cool mom! This cardigan has a hood without having a hood, if you understand what I’m saying. You can wear it in many ways. Luchae is wearing the top dress and leggings underneath.

  • Cardigan – YES
  • Sunglasses – Mr Price

STYLE 3

Wearing a belt, and this time under the kimono but still above the belly. I love this colour it is  beautiful for winter or even summer. The print design is fun and the black and white in the print works well with the dress top and leggings.

STYLE 4

Dressing up. Here the dress top is worn as a dress and we added a shirt dress over it and added a beautiful gold necklace. If your pregnant feet allows you to wear heels, then go for it, because this is a beautiful date night outfit, if heels is not going to work for you just wear a gold or sparkly pump shoe.

  • Shirt dress – River Island
  • Necklace – Models own

STYLE 5

Again with the black and white! i couldn’t help myself. Here the Yummy Mummy dress top is paired with a long knitted cardigan, with a hat and fun bag. This outfit is for those in-between weather days and it is so fresh and edgy.

  1. A friend is pregnant. She’s plus sized though and finds it hard to look good for work and social functions. Can you do something similar for plus sized pregnant ladies?
